Wedding Wine
Unless you have chosen a particularly exotic and diverse menu that encompasses a huge spectrum of flavours, it is usually possible (and advisable) to keep everyone more than happy with just one red /one white - and perhaps a wine perfectly suited to fish dishes - such as Sauvignon Blanc - then move on to something in a rich style, such as a Cabernet or Merlot for the main course.  Similarly, you may decide that you require both a light style of red and something heftier if there is a choice of main courses.  Some couples also like to provide a sweet wine to go with dessert.  We can help you choose a wine list that's as extensive or as simple as you choose, that fits comfortably in your pocket as well as your palate.

How much do I need?

Work on 5 glasses per bottle and generally allow for 3 glasses per person for dinner.  An even split of 50/50 red & white is best.  For champagne and sparkling wine, allow for 5 glasses per bottle.  One glass per person for the toast should suffice & then it's up to you whether you would like to offer guests arrive at the reception, this generally works out at 2 glasses per person.

How many different wines do I need?

The great thing about weddings is that they bring together people of all ages and tastes.  Matching the menu and the wine can also be one of the worries - so  our advice is.. KEEP IT SIMPLE!
